Jacqui Callis

about

Jacqui Callis:

Studied Fine Art in Leeds in the late 70s before moving to London to pursue an alternative music career.

“Art and music have always existed alongside each other and work best for me when they are symbiotically forged together into one large piece, such as ‘Into Form’  where neither would work without the other.”

Currently working on larger scale pieces where the work is as much defined by idea as media.

“I have always explored our connection to creativity and questioned what we consider as reality, in all aspects, with content that is largely symbolic.”

Been visually inspired, since the late 70s, by recycled materials.

Also has collaborated on some art films providing the sound design and plays and sings regularly around Cornwall in the hillbilly band Cahooty.”
